Prosthetic Dentistry

Prosthetic dentistry is the branch of dentistry that deals with restoring and maintaining the oral functions, well-being, appearance and health of the patient, by means of the restoration of natural teeth and/or replacementof missing teeth and adjacent oral tissues with artificial substitutes.

Fixed Prosthesis

A fixed prosthesis means a prosthetic appliance that cannot be removed independently by the patient. It can be fixed with dental cements to natural elements (teeth adequately prepared to accommodate prosthetic crowns), or to implants using cements or screws and is indicated in cases of total absence of elements of one or both arches dental.

The fixed dental prosthesis is made up of crowns made of materials such as zirconium and ceramic, anchored by the dentist to the so-called "pillar elements", represented by implants and natural teeth.

This type of prosthesis is able to ensure an optimal result in terms of resistance, biocompatibility, but also of the patient's aesthetics and replaces the dental elements in a stable and definitive way

Mobile Prosthesis

Le Protesi mobili sono di due tipi:

  • Protesi parziale: è ancorata tramite dei ganci ai denti naturali o a elementi fissi come gli impianti;
  • Protesi totale (dentiera): sostituisce un’intera arcata dentale.
