Periodontology

Periodontology is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the periodontal system, made up of the gum, alveolar bone, periodontal ligaments and root cement.

These inflammatory and degenerative pathologies, commonly called pyorrhea or periodontitis, if neglected, lead to the subsequent destruction of the tissues surrounding the teeth and ultimately to the loss of the latter.
